In 1977, Glenn Yasuda opened a small neighborhood market in the converted building that formerly housed Berkeley Bowl bowling alley and Berkeley Bowl was born.In 1999, we moved into a renovated former Safeway site at 2020 Oregon Street, which gave us the ability to truly expand all areas of our growing business. In June of 2009, our second store, Berkeley Bowl West, opened in a new modern building at 920 Heinz Avenue, across from the former Heinz Ketchup factory. Berkeley Bowl West features expanded parking areas, including an underground parking lot below the main building, with charging stations for electric vehicles!
